5 and 6 March / English

6 maart 2014 - Tomsk, Rusland

On Wednesday we moved to our next church. It is a small Baptist church (approx 30 members) in another part of Tomsk. After the introduction most of us went out on the street to hand-out flyers, while I and another teammember stayed in to cook lunch.

In the evening we visited a meeting of some students. They work as volunteers in an orphanage (another than the one we visited earlier this week). They meet every week to chat, pray for each other and discuss and plan their activities for the orphanage. One of them grew up in an orphanage, it was very interesting to learn more about orphanages in Siberia.

At the end of the evening we went to our new hosts: a Korean family who moved to Tomsk some 14 years ago. End they speak English J

Thursday was planned to be our day off, but our host asked me to tell something about myself in one of his lessons at the university (he teaches Korean). I was getting nervous about having to tell my story for a college room filled with student, but there were just two very friendly ladies. It was very nice to meet them, and as they spoke English, my interpreter could lean back.

In the afternoon we went sightseeing in Tomsk. Most of the places we visited are on the photos. At the end of the afternoon we went back to the Baptist church, had a cup of tea and then went home, where real Russian borsjt was served. Yummie!
